The Certified Master Chimney Technician represents the pinnacle certification in the chimney industry. The minimum requirements, just to be qualified, to apply for this certification are 8 years of experience (I have 33 years) and 6 years of past, comprehensive, chimney sweeping certification(s) testing (I have 37 years). As the Master rating is to a plumber's trade, so is the Master rating in the chimney industry.

Fireplace Investigation Research and Education (F.I.R.E.)

The F.I.R.E. Certified Inspector Program is the first and only inspection certification within the hearth industry. This professional education provides detailed instruction on the inspection and investigation of fireplaces, chimneys, vented appliances, and vent free products. This professional program includes but is not limited to the applicable building codes, manufacturers’ specifications, product identification, listing requirements, case study, historical performance, product design and application, inspection methodology, report writing, and fire technology. This Program also includes hands-on training in actual inspection techniques, photography and basic investigation techniques.

The F.I.R.E. Certified Technician Program is designed to assist those professionals who provide fireplace & chimney restoration, repair service or sweeping within the hearth industry.
